Overview:

Far East Energy Corporation engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of coalbed methane gas properties in the People's Republic of China. The company holds, through production sharing contracts, interests in three of China’s largest coalbed methane fields: the 485,000 acre Shouyang Block in Shanxi Province; the  573,000 acre Qinnan Block in Shanxi Province; and the 265,000 acre Enhong and Laochang areas in Yunnan Province. The company was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Business Strategy:

Since its inception Far East Energy has implemented a strategy to acquire, develop and exploit growth and to build a geographically focused portfolio of coalbed methane assets with some of the highest per Mcf margins in the industry. The Company has focused on applying the best possible techniques and latest technological developments to its projects in China allowing us to put in place a development drilling program that provides organic growth for the future. This strategy has created a multi-year drilling program to develop a multi-TCF resource base.

Mission:

Far East Energy's mission is to become a recognized leader in the efficient application of the most current and productive coalbed methane gas technologies in order to maximize production, revenue, cash flow and shareholder value from existing coalbed methane assets in China. Additionally we will pursue CBM gas property acquisition in China, exploration, development, production, and innovative products applications. The Company is committed to improving the quality of life, and the environment, as well as promoting economic growth in a safe manner while simultaneously building an energy-related business with a high return on stockholders’ equity.
